Anna Sellen is a UK based artist, currently living and working on the west coast of Wales.
The artist has an academic background in Jurisprudence and International Development and graduated from the University for the Creative Arts and Open College of the Arts in 2023 with a First BA (Hons) degree in Photography.
In her multi-disciplinary practice, Anna Sellen draws on her experiences of migration, margins and boundaries frequently crossing the borders between photography, video, sound, installation and text. She often works autobiographically, combining her personal history with research and archival work to explore wider political and cultural debates.
Her workfeatured at Open Walls Arles Vol.4 2022, FORMAT International PhotographyFestival 2023, Earth Photo International Photography exhibition 2023, the RoyalPhotographic Society International Photography Exhibition 2022, Photoworks UK GraduateShowcase 2022 and other events. Her work won awards, including Sidney NolanTrust Prize at Earth Photo 2023, RBSA Photography Prize 2023, Single Image Winnerat OpenWalls Arles 2022 and FORMAT Shutter Hub portfolio award 2021. She hasbeen nominated for 2023 New Blood Art fine art prize.
